NECC Owner Found Guilty -- Why We Have Outsourcing

Today the industry was reminded of why legislation was passed creating the 503B Outsourcing Facility. Barry Cadden, the owner of NECC, the company responsible for a fungal meningitis outbreak in 2012, was found guilty of racketeering and mail fraud. As a result of the poor management at NECC, medications were shipped without doing the proper sterility testing.
